The closing date for entries will be late on the 17th December.
We have had requests to change the date of the third weekend because it is the last weekend of the school half-term break. Unfortunately, constraints on pool availability mean that our events must be 3 weeks apart. The only option would be to make all of the dates one week earlier, which would then clash with the start of half-term. All County Championships must be completed by the end of February.

Qualifying times
Long course and short course qualifying times.
Qualifying times are provided a guide. Where a swimmer sets an automatic time they will be accepted into the meet (subject to the conditions). Where a swimmer sets a consideration time then we will normally have to cap to the number of accepted entries to the target number of swims (see above).
Note:
- Qualifying times must be set on or after 1 March 2024.
- Last year’s entries are used to derive a starting point for this years times.
- We set automatic times to fill 60% of the target number of swims. These times give certainty to these swimmers that they will be accepted (subject to the conditions).
- We set consideration times to fill 110% of the target number of swims.
- Generally where times have improved from last year we didn’t apply the full improvement. This allows for a single year/age being particularly fast. This works in the swimmers’ favour.
- Generally where we didn’t fill an event last year we have made the times slower this year. This works in the swimmers’ favour.
- Times are compared with previous years (in particular 2019, 2023, 2024) and other counties. This is done to try and ensure consistency across the years.
- Short course times are included for ease of reference. These follow the same method as rankings (and should be consistent with the “converted to LC” column shown on rankings)
