Competition Conditions and Rules
1. The Hampshire Synchronised Swimming Age Group Championships competition shall be competed ‘under Swim England Laws and regulations and FINA Technical Rules of Synchronised Swimming.’
2. The competition shall be held in accordance with the Swim England Synchronised Swimming Leadership Team Competition Licensing Guidelines (2018).
3. All competitors shall have been registered members of the club under whose name they
compete for at least 60 days prior to the first day of the competition.
4. This competition is a Level 2 competition
Events and Entry requirements
Female and male swimmers may enter all sections. Each swimmer who enters must have obtained their grade level by the closing date of the competition.
Figure Competition
- 12 & under Figures – minimum grade 2 bronze
- 13-15 Figures – minimum grade 3 bronze
- 15-18 Figures – minimum grade 4 bronze
Each age group shall perform the compulsory figures/skills as set by the host plus one further set randomly drawn at a later date. See Appendix 1. Swimmers who are 15 years old may enter in either but not both the 13-15 age group OR 15-18 age group. The order of appearance for figures/skills will be randomly drawn.
All competitors must wear a one-piece plain black suit and plain white cap. Goggles and nose clips may be worn. Jewellery is not allowed. Nail varnish must be removed.
Combination Competition

There will be two divisions
Division 1 – 12U – Grade 0-2; All other age groups grade 3 and below
Division 2 – 12U – Grades 1-3; All other age groups grade 3 and above
A combination team may consist of a minimum of 6 (six) and a maximum of 10 (ten) competitors, who make a combination of routines (solo, duet, trio and team) where at least two parts must have fewer than 3 (three) competitors, and at least two parts must have 6 (six) to 10 (ten) competitors.
Combination Timings
12U 3 minutes + / – 15 seconds
13-15 Division 1 – 3 minutes + / – 15 seconds
Division 2 – 3 minutes 30 + / – 15 seconds
15 Under 3 minutes + / – 15 seconds
13-18 3 minutes + / – 15 seconds
Timing of the deck movements shall end when the last competitor enters the water. Maximum deck work is 10 seconds
A swimmer may only enter one combination team
The swimwear (swimsuit, cap and goggles) of all competitors shall be in good moral
taste and suitable for the individual sports disciplines and not to carry any symbol which may be considered offensive.
All costumes shall be non-transparent
The Referee of a competition has the authority to exclude any competitor(s) whose
costume and/or body symbols do not comply with this rule.
In the event that the referee thinks a competitor(s) swimwear does not conform to
GR5 and SS13.5, the competitor(s) will not be permitted to compete until changing into
appropriate swimwear.
General rules
- The Hampshire Synchronised Swimming Age Group Championships competition shall be held annually in accordance with the FINA technical rules of Synchronised Swimming, Where FINA Rules do not provide the requirements Swim England Synchronised Swimming Guidelines will be applied.
- The head judge on each panel must be a qualified judge of any level under Swim England.
- All Clubs should attempt to appoint judge(s) as set out by the host and are responsible for the expenses of the judge(s).
- Competitors will enter as a Swim England affiliated club. The promoters may in the case of entry numbers/time constraints refuse entries on a first come first served basis.
- Entries will only be accepted from competitors registered as members of Swim England
- All routine music is to be emailed, in MP3 format, to Emma Adams, at hantssynchromusic@gmail.com, by 20th April 2020. The music file must be named in the following order: Age group, Division Club (team name if more than one team entered)
e.g. 13-18 Div 1 Rushmoor Team 1
- All competitors must be Swim England Category 1 or 2 registered
- Entries shall be submitted to Jan Mattinson, using the following email address hantscompetition@gmail.com
Photography
Anyone who wishes to take photographs or film a video must declare and sign the register before going on poolside and must be members of a competing club and have the club’s permission to film.
Timings of the competition
Medals
Medals will be presented to the first three competitors or combination teams, subject to there being three or more competitors rosettes will be given to 4th, 5th, & 6th places.

2. The competition shall be held in accordance with the Swim England Artistic Swimming Leadership Team Competition Licensing Guidelines (2018).
Swim England Hampshire Artistic Swimming Age Group Solo Competition
3. All competitors shall have been registered members of the club under whose name they compete for at least 60 days prior to the first day of the competition.
4. This competition is a Level 3 competition
Events and Entry requirements
- 12U Free Solo – minimum grade 2 bronze
- 13-15 Free Solo – minimum grade 3 bronze
- 15-18 Free Solo – minimum grade 4 bronze
- 15-18 Tech Solo – minimum of grade 4 bronze
Female and male swimmers may enter. Each swimmer who enters must have obtained their grade level by the closing date of the competition.
Solo Competition
12U Free Solo – 2 minutes + / – 15 seconds
Solo Timings
13-15 Free Solo – 2 minutes 15 + / – 15 seconds
15-18 Free Solo – 2 minutes 30 + / – 15 seconds
15-18 Tech Solo – 2 minutes + / – 15 seconds
Tech elements to be swum as per FINA rules.

Medals
Medals will be presented for 1st , 2nd and 3rd place in each age group (15-18 tech and free will be awarded separately.)
Aggregate Trophy
The Leo Gamble Aggregate Trophy will be presented from results of all County competitions and will be calculated
1st – 8 points
2nd – 7 points
3rd – 6 points
4th – 5 points
5th – 4 points
6th – 3 points
7th – 2 points
8th – 1 point.
In dead heats the points shall be divided.
The Firmin Trophy (Presented by Mrs B.J. Firmin, President 1997)
Will be presented annually to the swimmer in the 13/14 age group achieving the highest amount of points in county competitions.
